Have you ever wanted to take the CERT
(Community Emergency Response Team) training but you could not fit the 8 night classes into your schedule?
Good news – For the
past year I have been working on taking the fundamentals of the CERT training and creating a two night class that will focus
on the individual being prepared to respond first to their family and then to their immediate neighborhood.
Emergency Preparedness Training for Citizens
"What to do before, during, and after a disaster!"
The
two evening training course sponsored by the College Park Community Emergency Response Team will be held on Tuesday May 5,
and Tuesday May 12, from 6:30 to 9:00 PM at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 2499 N. Westmoreland Ave. in College Park.
The course will train citizens in what they can do
before a disaster to prepare themselves, their homes and their families, what a citizen can expect during a disaster and how
a citizen can respond to the needs of their families and neighbors after a disaster. The second night of the training will
be emergency first aid. The focus of the training will be on hurricanes; the course will also review tornadoes, wild fires,
terrorism and chemical emergencies.
